After rinsing the color, I cut Taylor's hair and styled it with a blowdryer and flat iron. For smooth results, always use a heat styling spray and follow your flat iron with some smoothing serum.
Here's the final result:

Makeover part 2
The color is all applied now. The color needs to process for about 15-30 minutes depending on how porous the hair is. Taylor's will process for 20 minutes or so.
And now we wait...
Next, we will rinse the color and begin her cut!
Makeover!
Today's post is a makeover post! My friend, Taylor, wanted a new cut and color for fall so I'm killing two birds with one stone by giving her a fabulous makeover and turning it into a blog post so you can all see the magic happen step by step.
Taylor's hair is colored already but her color is brassy and faded from a red dye job earlier this summer. I'm going to correct this by doing a neutral brown color from Redken (color 3N) with some blue undertones to counteract the red/orange tones in her hair. I like Redken because it has natural conditioners in it and it always produces beautiful, rich color.
I'm applying the color from the roots using a color applicator brush. When doing at home color, remember to always use gloves to protect your skin!
After the color, I'm going to give Taylor a haircut. She wants about a half an inch to an inch off the ends as well as some layering. The goal is to give her a cleaner version of the haircut she already has because she likes the length it's at but her ends are dead and dry.
Here's a before picture of Taylor's hair to give you an idea of what we're starting with.

How to...
To get nice BIG curls that last alllll day I start off by flipping my wet hair and blowdrying it nice and wild...
Then I shoot it with some texturizing spray!
I've always been a fan of curling with the flat iron, this way I can achieve my big loose curls that I love so much. I shoot each layer I curl with Hairspray then a cooling shine spray.
Finally, to add a little Lindsey Love I braid my top layer, and pin it together in the back!
Want even looser curls?? After curling each section pull the hair down while its cooling off!
A trend that has been seen on A LOT of celebs lately is Ombre Hair! We have seen it on Lauren Conrad, Gwyneth Paltrow, Cameron Diaz and many more. I think that this trend is Fun, Sexy, and stylish. It's something anyone can pull off if done properly and can save you a few bucks at the salon!
"Ombre hair swept the nation almost as fast as rumors of the zombie apocalypse went rampant on the internet"

Elegant DIY
I have always Loved this Beautiful style! I would use a big curling iron and some smoothing oil to achieve these gorgeous curls and round brush the crown then tease to get the height.

Since i'm just going out with friends I didn't want to do anything sexy, just cute and easy...
heres what I came up with
I just straightened my bangs, and put my hair in a messy pony. Then I took a longer section of the pony and braided it, wrapped it twice, and pinned it under the pony tail. Super simple, cute and fun!

Haircut at Fekkai
Jerome started with the cut and blew it out with a medium size round brush
Then he used Frederic Fekkai's Brilliant Glossing Cream to smooth my hair, but just a small amount. too much can weigh down the hair.
The finished product.. obviously Jerome was very happy with his work, and so am I! ( =

Natural Beauty
Tip of the day, while curling your hair don't use uniform sections, use random sections to make the hair look more natural. Also don't curl the hair in one direction.-Jerome Gaultier, senior stylist at Fekkai!

My shower
Switching between shampoos and conditioners can help your hair not get used to your products so easily! Don't forget to use a mask once a week!
Day to Night
Lately ive been into very messy hair... so for this I used lifting and texturizing spray(Fekkai). Then blew it out with a round brush and curled with my flat iron!
Better view...
and then I took the SAME messy hair to night time sexy hair!
plus I went a little darker on the eyes.. did you know dirty hair is the best to work with!
True Beauty
I love everything about this, a TRUE beauty, a normal girl with hair that anyone can do... assuming you don't have a bob...

RAINBOW HAIR!
I love when people experiment with their hair!
I wouldn't suggest doing this yourself though, have a licensed cosmetologist ( like myself) help you with this one. Bleach can get a little messy...

Today I found out that the shampoo I use is VERY toxic... I won't say which one.. but you can look for yourself on Skin Deep! It individually test products anywhere from haircare to toothpaste, for things like cancer causing ingredients, and allergies. Check it out and be aware!
